Enchanted Forest Mohair Throw
This wonderfully warm, ultra-soft and thick mohair throw blends rich hues of dark purple, green and turquoise in a beautiful tapestry of forest tones.
Merino wool adds structure while mohair gives this throw beautiful softness. Mohair, a rare and highly prized fibre shorn twice a year from the Angora goat, is known as a noble fibre for its remarkable natural qualities. Its hollow structure warms almost instantly against the skin, while also being naturally breathable, dirt-repellent, odour-resistant and flame retardant.
- Size: 137 x 182cm (54 x 71 inches)
- Composition: 70% Mohair, 30% Merino wool
- Origin: Made in Ireland
Product Care
The manufacturer advises professional clean only.
Can be hand-washed or machine washed with care on a cool wool setting using wool-approved detergent. Do not spin. If using a machine, this throw should be placed in a WashSafe bag to protect the tassels.
Allow to dry naturally. Do not tumble dry.
Please note: never use your regular laundry detergent on wool. Even "gentle" or non-bio detergents usually contain bleach, which will ruin it.
Origin & Sustainability
This beautiful throw is made in Ireland from ethically sourced Mohair and Merino wool in a factory which runs off entirely hydro-powered electricity, some of which is generated by the factory's own water turbines. All raw materials are sourced from manufacturers who operate with sustainable and ethical production practices.
Non-mulesed Merino: This wool is certified and independently audited as being shorn from sheep that have not been mulesed.
Sustainable – wool and mohair are natural and fully sustainable fibres from renewable sources. Wool is nature’s technical wonder fibre and has many inherent qualities that can't be reproduced by manmade fibres.
Mohair is a hollow fibre that warms almost instantly when placed against the skin. It is breathable, naturally repels dirt and resists odours, and is flame retardant.
Micro-climate control – natural fibres help to regulate your body temperature, actively keeping you warm in winter and cool in summer.
Anti-microbial – natural fibres are naturally anti-microbial due to the fibre protein composition and unique surface scale structure on which bacteria are unable to survive.
Natural flame resistance – wool is naturally flame-resistant and self-extinguishing, and doesn't melt.
Dirt repellent – the antistatic nature of wool reduces the attraction of lint and dust, and the microscopic surface scales prevent dirt from penetrating the fibre surface.
Asthma-friendly – dust mites are a key trigger for Asthma attacks; they cannot survive on wool or mohair, making it a perfect choice for asthma sufferers.
